Suta Goswami to the sages of Naimisaranya about what Parikshit Maharaj did after hearing about Krishna from Srila Sukadev Goswami

I would like to share the wonderful account of what Parikshit Maharaj did after hearing the Srimad Bhagavatam from Srila Sukadev Goswami. After hearing the glories of the Lord, Parikshit Maharaj was completely absorbed in Krishna consciousness. He gave up all attachment to his kingdom, family, and bodily comforts.

Suta Goswami narrated to the sages of Naimisaranya how Parikshit Maharaj, upon receiving the curse that he would die within seven days, immediately renounced everything and sat on the banks of the Ganges to fast until death, hearing the Srimad Bhagavatam from Sukadev Goswami.

This is the perfect example of how a devotee should utilize the time given to them. Rather than lamenting over the impending death, Parikshit Maharaj used every remaining moment to hear about Krishna. This is the highest form of intelligence — to use every moment in the service of the Lord.

We should follow the example of Parikshit Maharaj and use our time, energy, and resources in the service of the Lord, especially in hearing and chanting His glories.
